Vila Flor is a municipality situated in the Terra Quente Transmontana region within the southern part of the district of Bragança in Portugal. Locally known as the Portuguese Capital of Olive Oil, the municipality covers an area of 265.81 square kilometres, equivalent to 102.63 square miles. According to the 2011 census, the recorded population of the municipality stood at 6,697 inhabitants.

Historically, the physical landscape and regional setting attracted royal attention in 1286 when King Denis travelled through the burg, then called Póvoa d´Álem Sabor, and renamed it Vila Flor after becoming enchanted by the local environment. Around 1295, the King directed the establishment of a walled city featuring five gates to protect the settlement and secure territorial interests. The municipal geography also encompasses local tourism infrastructure, featuring seasonal trekking options, a municipal camping site, and river beaches situated throughout the region.
